Envisage is an integrated suite
of applications that provides a complete tool kit to configure,
monitor and troubleshoot your frame relay network. A powerful
graphical interface-based solution, it leverages and extends
the capabilities of FrameNode™, ConversionNode™,
and Frame Relay Access Probes (FRAP™ family) embedded
SNMP agents. Envisage delivers the robustness and performance
levels that network managers expect and depend on.
Configuration is simple and intuitive with
easy-to-use data entry and one-click installation. Industrial
strength monitoring consolidates operational status for
each managed unit, providing complete network visibility
and fast diagnosis at the click of a mouse. Automated software
release management and a scalable, distributed management
platform improve operation. Comprehensive remote troubleshooting
ensures rapid problem determination and isolation. If your
network management staff struggles with complex, ineffective
tools, let Envisage create a simplified view of your frame
relay network.
Envisage is fully supported in Windows 95/NT
environments as well as HP OpenView and IBM NetView. It
runs on HP UX, Sun Solaris and IBM AIX platforms. Envisage’s
point-and-click architecture eliminates using complex MIB
browsers and makes network monitoring and diagnosis fast
and easy.

labor
Envisage Management Tools
Envisage network management software supports
both the FrameNode/ConversionNode products as well as the
circuit management (x-FRAP) products. Envisage provides
compelling functionality for managing frame relay networks
and introduces JAVA technology to the VITAL product family.
All this means that VITAL is positioned to take advantage
of state-of-the-art software tools in bringing Frame Relay
management to new levels of value and efficiency.
SPECIFICATIONS
Product Requirements
Product requirements (processor power, memory
and disk space) depend on the number of managed devices
(ConversionNodes, FrameNodes, FRAP family) and expected
performance level. While very small networks may be effectively
managed from any PC that can host Windows 95, as additional
nodes are managed, faster processors and additional RAM
will significantly improve performance.
Envisage for Windows
- Minimum IBM compatible PC with Pentium
166 or higher
- Minimum 64MB RAM
- Recommended P233 or faster with 64MB RAM
or more Windows 95 or Windows NT (display requires 600
x 800 pixels or higher)
Envisage for UNIX
Envisage for UNIX may run as a standalone
application or integrated with industry standard management
platforms such as HP OpenView. When integrated, hardware
requirements are consistent with those of the management
platform. The requirements listed below should be considered
the minimum necessary in a standalone environment. The
standard release media for Envisage for UNIX is CD-ROM.
